Writing Prompt (18)

This is an easy one, but I’d love to read some and smile (and hopefully get you smiling too)..

What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?

As usual, let me know in the comments 🙂

  1. Several years ago I worked as an educational consultant for a non-profit. One of the schools I worked in was in inner city Newark, New Jersey, and most of the children weren’t sure what to make of me, my white skin, and my Texas accent in their very black school. Most wouldn’t talk to me and if they did the other children would make fun of them for “talking white.”
After I’d visited the two on two separate occasions one of the most resistant children came to me and said, “I think you might be the nicest white person I ever met.”

  2. One time I was told I had the biggest heart and was one of the most sentimental people that this person knew. It definitely brought a smile to my face.

  3. There was the time my boss, a very intelligent businesswoman, whose opinion I greatly respect, told me that I was such a great representative for our company. This was after we’d had the President of UPS and some of his executives visit our company and she was showing them around introduced me to them, and I spoke with them for a bit. I was quite proud of that, especially because I’m not a naturally “social” person. But I managed to power through my nerves and basically be “on” for a bit, and I impressed them.
